Pelicart help
Saved preferences
Tell Pelicart once how you like to shop and it remembers for every shop after.
Save a preference
Use words like “always”, “never” or “from now on”, or state a plain fact about how you shop:
when i say chocolate i always mean cadbury
i’m vegan
A preference can be:
- a brand or pack size
- a diet rule
- a budget
- a store for an item
- what to get when something’s out of stock (substitutes)
- anything else about how you shop
A preference applies at every store you shop. To limit one to a store, name the store:
budget R500 a shop on sixty60
If a preference names a store, link that store too, or Pelicart can’t follow it (stores).
Pelicart doesn’t save one-off instructions like “cheapest eggs today”.
How preferences apply
Preferences fill in what you leave open, like brand, size or variant, and guide out-of-stock swaps and backups. With “always get free range eggs” saved, “eggs” gets you free range. They keep applying after /new and after a long break.
What you ask for in a message always wins, including items in a recipe, photo or list. Pelicart flags the clash in one line. A budget guides brands and sizes but never drops something you asked for.
See, change or remove a preference
/prefs or “what do you remember about me?” shows a numbered list. To change one, send the new version and Pelicart replaces the old one:
actually make that budget R600 a shop on sixty60
To remove one, describe it:
forget the eggs one
Before you rely on a preference
Check these first:
- Pelicart saves without asking. If it kept something meant only for today, ask it to forget it.
- Disconnecting a store keeps your preferences. Deleting your account erases them (commands).
- A diet preference isn’t a label check, so check labels for allergies. For diets stores can filter for, see search.
- Changing your default store isn’t a preference (stores).
