Substitutes and backups

Pelicart swaps out-of-stock items while it fills your cart. Backups are different: the store’s shopper uses them if an item runs out while they pack your order.

While Pelicart fills your cart

Pelicart checks stock at the store that delivers to you. If something’s out, your usuals included, it adds the closest in-stock alternative and notes the swap on the receipt. Pelicart lists anything it can’t replace under “couldn’t get”. Ask if you want a different swap (your cart).

Backups for when the store packs

If an item runs out before the store packs your order, the store’s shopper uses your backup. Without one, they choose. Pelicart only sets backups when you ask. Once Pelicart has filled your cart, send:
