Pelicart help
Shopping a recipe
Name a dish and how many it’s for, or send one or more recipes as a link, photo, PDF or pasted ingredient list. Pelicart fills your cart with the ingredients.
get me stuff for spag bol for 4
[2 photos of recipes]
shop both of these
To send recipes as photos, voice notes, files or links, see photos, voice notes, files and links.
What it buys
Pelicart buys:
- The smallest pack that covers the recipe: 2 cups of rice gets the smallest pack holding 2 cups.
- The amounts the recipe lists: with no amounts, it shops for 4 to 5 people unless you say “for 2” or similar.
- Shared ingredients, added up: send the week’s recipes in one go so nothing gets bought twice.
- Everything except staples and what you have: Pelicart skips anything already in your cart, even from a recipe you sent earlier. If you already have an ingredient at home, say so in the same message:
get me stuff for a chicken curry for 2, i’ve already got rice
A recipe request only adds to your cart. It never changes, removes or clears what’s there; ask for that separately.
Staples
Pelicart skips staples like salt, pepper, milk, butter and flour, even when the recipe gives an amount. It skips their variants too, like sea salt. After it sends your receipt, Pelicart lists what it skipped, with an add them button. To get a staple from the start, ask in the same message:
get me stuff for a chocolate cake and add the flour too
Pelicart adds staples on a shopping list, like “please buy salt”, as normal.
